The Budapest close report put the BUX at 145,390.27 points at the end of regular trading, down 1,738.59 points or 1.18% from the previous close. Equity turnover was HUF 54.6 billion. OTP accounted for HUF 41.8 billion of that amount, so the bank’s weight and decline explain most of the BUX’s daily loss.
| Share | Close | Daily price change | Daily change | |---|---:|---:|---:| | OTP | HUF 42,700 | HUF −1,100 | −2.51% | | MOL | HUF 4,974 | HUF −76 | −1.50% | | Richter | HUF 12,370 | HUF +40 | +0.32% | | Magyar Telekom | HUF 2,544 | HUF +4 | +0.16% |
Compared with our Budapest pre-open scenario, the two heaviest index members weakened, while Richter and Magyar Telekom finished slightly higher.
Europe also turned lower
The DAX ended at 25,199.19 points, down 0.79%. The EURO STOXX 50 close was 6,269.02 points, a loss of 0.81%. The CAC 40 fell 0.89% to 7,964.51, while the FTSE 100 declined 0.29% to 10,606.00. The broad decline is a market pattern, but it does not establish one common cause.
The September 30 ECB reference rates showed EUR/HUF at 366.20 and a calculated USD/HUF value of 322.50. These are daily reference values, not live currency quotes; for investors measuring returns in forints, exchange-rate changes can alter results separately from the equity return.
What comes next?
Our US pre-open report began with GDP and PCE data, but regular US trading has not yet closed, so no final US index levels are included in this phase. Micron’s official investor notice says its results arrive after the US close; they may become an important checkpoint for semiconductor and AI-related shares in the next European session.
