The BLS calendar schedules the August JOLTS report for 29 September at 10:00 in New York and 16:00 in Budapest. What to watch when the figures arrive

Editorial interpretation: a strong or weak headline figure alone does not determine the stock market’s direction. New figures need to be read alongside any revisions to earlier data. For a dollar-denominated investment, both the share price and the exchange rate can contribute to changes in its forint value.

An explanation based on interest-rate expectations would be weakened if bond yields did not move in the assumed direction; even co-movement would not, by itself, establish causation.
